What
has Anyhow been up to since speaking at Semi-Permanent?
We have been flat out. We have had a busy year in graphics, but
I guess the significant change is that we are creating more and
more fine art. We exhibited at Art Melbourne in April which was
our first real showing in Melbourne and Dave and my combined
art sold out. Our combined art goes under the name of Doug Bartlett
who is rapidly taking on a personality of his own....... see
the artist statement......
We then set up an exhibition at Fresh Gallery
in Fitzroy which was a resounding success as well. We had
art dealers and collectors picking up art from all over the
country. You can view a quick video of the exhibition with
interviews at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHjllop52DQ
Just last week we have been accepted to exhibit
at Angora Gallery in Chelsea in New York next May which is
really exciting. The art side of things is flying along. All
of our art can be seen at www.nickmorris.com.au
It has been a very significant year since
we spoke at Semi Permanent.
Any projects (books etc):
We are in fact looking at the possibility of putting together
a book of the last 15-20 years of graphics and art that we
have created, much of which was seen when we spoke at Semi
Permanent.
With the history of what we have done, including
the trials and tribulations of the Umgawa clothing label
in the early nineties, the graphics that Anyhow has created
for such a large number of of world renowned brands and now
the next chapter in fine art, I believe it would be a fairly
interesting look at graphics and art from our perspective
over that period.
If fact we have been speaking to Andrew at
Semi Permanent with the possibility of helping us put the book
together, so you will know all about it when it happens.
Are there any SP
speakers that you have teamed up with to work on projects
with?
Not at this point, but who knows....... We will definitely
look at hooking up with Steffinie at Stiletto and try to catch
up with Joshua Davies if we can find him. |
