Have
you been working on any upcoming shows?
My next show is at the science museum in California this fall....
here's the press description of the exhibit:
"Contemporary painter, Tiffany Bozic and Invertebrate Zoologist,
Dr. Richard Mooi have partnered at the California Academy of
Sciences to explore the museums collections from a new perspective.
Large scale paintings and sketches convey the dialogue between
the sciences and the arts; between life and death in the natural
world, and presents an artists vision into the often unseen
drama that unfolds beneath the sea. The exhibit includes live
tanks, museum specimen collections, and photography that reveal
the passion for understanding life and the process of discovery
that scientist and artist share.
At the California Academy of Sciences
from November 15, 2007 to January 6, 2008."
What methods
or steps(process) do you take before you start a piece of
work?
depends, I usually isolate an idea or emotion, then search
for an example in nature to describe it, then I research that
subject. Sometimes it works the other way around though.
What lead you
to this career path?
Everything really - ultimately I was inspired by what I didn't
want to be. You start off in one direction and you chip away
what doesn't work, until you wind up streamlined for your natural
path.
Are there any
major plans or projects you plan to achieve over the next
few years?
Same goal as always, just to keep exploring new ways to reveal
the mysteries in my life one day at a time. But the next horizon
after the Science Museum show is another solo at BLK MRKT in
LA California next March/April.
Have you kept
communication with anyone from the audience from SP?
Not as much as I had hoped since I have been travelling overseas
since without access to internet.
