The Cardboard Synthesizer Workshop

With Niklas Roy & Kati Hyyppä
As the name of the workshop hints, it is all about building synthesizers out of cardboard. We will provide you with simple electronic components, which produce different tones. Your challenge is to come up with an intriguing interface for making an instrument out of them. It could be a piano made of an abandoned egg container, or perhaps a musical carpet on which you dance.

Workshop is now Sold Out.

Score Generators

Shannon Novak’s exhibition, Score Generators, uses colour, abstract forms, and sound to reveal the musicality behind objects within the Aotea Centre as experienced by Novak through synesthesia. By holding your mobile device up to each object, you will witness these synesthetic experiences through real-time animation with sound. Please come prepared with a mobile device to view the exhibition.
