Shag – The Birds and the Beast Presented by Outré @ The Bakery Open daily 12 -6 pm Outré Gallery brings cult pop artist SHAG out from Los Angeles for his sixth visit to Oz and his first time to the West – with exhibitions of original paintings and rare prints in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. Impeccably painted in dazzling hues, Shag’s original paintings are highly sought after worldwide and his galleries (including Outré) keep long waiting lists of eager collectors keen to have an authentic piece of the action. The opportunities to even see Shag paintings in the real are far and few between. “THE BIRDS AND THE BEASTS” is Shag’s sixth collection to be created especially for Outré and the Australian audience – this time featuring perky feathered friends and avian cultural symbolism. Shag’s specific affection for the Antipodes and our architecture is celebrated in this body of work as a kind of insider’s sub-theme. Shag has created special paintings for each respective Australian city he is exhibiting in for this tour. Local mid-century architecture meets black swans at cocktail hour!
