Tarik Abdel-Gawad is a designer and filmmaker leading the creative R&D effort for VR and AR at Google Daydream. Prior to Google, Tarik worked on projects spanning filmmaking, robotics, projection-mapping, and interactive installation. In 2013, he Creative Directed the award-winning short film, Box. In 2011, he worked on the robotic cinematography behind Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity. At the intersection of art and science, Tarik’s interdisciplinary work connects the physical with the digital through narrative, technology, and design.
