More than fun & games

More than fun & games

Game design is not about the aesthetics of games, but rather the design of compelling user experiences that can generate deep emotional engagement with players. Incorporating elements of psychology, marketing, UX, architecture, game theory and countless other areas it’s influence is increasingly felt throughout all aspects of modern life: from the gamification of primary education, through to the rehabilitation of the elderly; from the training of surgeons, to the changing nature of our culture and social connections.

This panel will delve into the fundamentals of what it means to make something compelling; look into the core techniques used now that can be used across many more design disciplines, and peer into the future of AR/VR and how we design for an entirely new world of interactivity.
