Carby Tuckwell does many things, but it’s his role as Creative Director at Deus Ex Machina that is truly seared into the fabric of Australia’s fashion world. A former design director (and antagonist) of large-scale corporate giants, in 2005 Tuckwell, along with Mambo genius Dare Jennings, co-founded the gonzo motorcycle/surf/fashion/coffee/lifestyle brand as a bold experiment in the future of retail; an operation that now includes stores in LA, Milan and Tokyo and annual turnover of $30m+.
