Gem Fletcher is a Writer, Podcaster, Art Director and Photo Director based in London. She spent the last decade collaborating with photographers and filmmakers around the globe on personal, editorial and commercial projects. As a visual consultant, Gem supports emerging and newly established photographers in artist development across all areas of their practice. She also consults for brands and media platforms and has created original content for NOWNESS, TED, Moleskine and WeTransfer.

As Photo Director of Riposte magazine, a smart magazine for women, she works closely with all contributors to frame the magazine's agenda and make provocative and relevant content.

She writes about art and culture for a range of publications including Creative Review, Elephant, The Guardian, British Journal of Photography, Itsnicethat, Sleek, The September Issues and AnOther.

The Messy Truth Podcast, hosted by Gem, explores the ever-changing landscape of contemporary photography. Photographers, commissioners, curators and editors share their work and process, discussing everything from the impact of social media, representation, gaze, awards, mental health and more. These candid conversations unpack the future of visual culture and what it means to be a photographer today.
