As an artist, Hannah works in gestural mark-making activity with well-honed expressive instincts to colour, layering, and composition.
Her collective inspiration is the allure of nature, the subtleties of the landscape and what is overlooked in the everyday. Her paintings are an emotional response to the natural world. She draws upon remembered places and images in her mind to create new visual experiences.
“Rather than depicting the physical truth of a landscape, I aim to express its essence.”
Hannah completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at Monash University in Melbourne 20 years ago and continues to work from her home studio in Northcote, Melbourne.
Hannah’s paintings have been selected for national awards and shown in group and solo exhibitions. Her work has also been commissioned and is held in private collections throughout Australia and overseas. Her paintings have featured in numerous print publications such as Belle Magazine, Real Living, Home Beautiful and Fête Press as well as online blog features such as The Design Files and Daily Imprint.
