…where our global community of artists, designers and thought leaders work together to evolve your story.

Let's talk.

Tilt Brush

We're fascinated and inspired by the promise of creativity in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.

We worked with Google VR in bringing together revered Artist James Jean, Soloist with the Australian Ballet Sharni Spencer, Typographer Luke Lucas and Architect Kelvin Ho to take part in a world-first collaboration using Tilt Brush. We sought to humanise this new VR technology and explore the opportunities that Tilt Brush presents for the future of design.

The scale of the project, the collaborative nature of the work and the pairing of creative minds on opposite ends of the creative spectrum, allowed us to present Tilt Brush in a completely unique way -  via a large-scale, live-art activation, giving audiences a glimpse into the future of Tilt Brush, beyond Art.

The Panic Office

We’re music fans. We love music and the ground-breaking nature of the industry and its artists.

And we really love Radiohead. We’re awed by the visual archive that has complemented and informed 25 years of their music. So we brought to life Stanley Donwood (Radiohead's resident artist) and Thom Yorke’s (Radiohead’s frontman) vision of an interactive installation that housed over 2,500 pieces of never before collated Radiohead artwork - accompanied by a bespoke and unreleased soundscape created by Thom Yorke himself. All of this was made possible via Dropbox’s cloud and sharing capabilities, establishing a visual and audio immersive landscape - The Panic Office.

Experienced as an immersive installation and across shared video and editorial content, we told the story of Dropbox as silent enablers of this world-first live showcase.

Vivid Sydney

We admire fearless storytellers like Oliver Stone.

We worked with Destination NSW to bring the iconic Director, Producer and Screenwriter Oliver Stone to Sydney, to share his story, inspire a new generation of story-tellers and further establish Sydney as a global hub for creative talent.

Oliver Stone’s integration into Semi Permanent and Vivid, generated extended media-reach and exclusive content across multiple-platforms, as this once-in-a-generation artist called Sydney home for a short, but influential time in 2017.

Kill The Fin Trade

We want to make a difference on issues we feel strongly about.

After learning that 38 million sharks end up on the fin trade every year, we worked with non-profit conservation organisation Sea Shepherd to start a cultural conversation and put the shark finning debate on the national agenda - with the help of our friends at 72andSunny, aftrs and the international creative community.

In the largest live brief ever hosted; 1,200 creative thinkers were given access to a design toolkit, including activist artwork by designer David Carson and shark imagery from UN photographer Michael Muller, whilst being briefed by Jim Moriarty (Brand Citizenship, 72andSunny) and Ashley Avci (Campaign Leader, Sea Shepherd) to create a live social movement.

Made By Monkeys

We get a thrill from working with pioneers (and our friends) in the creative industries.

To celebrate the first 10 years of The Monkeys, we curated and oversaw the design, editorial, photography and creative direction of a 392-page limited edition book, Made By Monkeys, that documented the celebrated Agency The Monkeys creative culture and key milestones during their past decade in business.

The book was an ode to the people, projects and brands that helped The Monkeys to evolve as a creative agency and shares insights on how The Monkeys co-founders, longstanding staff and clients helped shape the evolution of the agency.

Picture This

We admire our partners currently pushing boundaries with big ideas and new technology.

We worked with Facebook to highlight the power of storytelling on mobile - inspired by a single image by celebrated photographer Dan Winters, we brought together a group of creative minds, all of whom crafted their own story, emotionally guiding viewers through Facebook Video, Carousel, Canvas and 360 Video.

One photograph, a group of inspiring creatives, five unique stories, told across a variety of Facebook products.

Innovation Lab

We believe constant learning, sharing and collaborating is the key to any meaningful partnership.

The Telstra Innovation Lab presented by Semi Permanent was a unique opportunity for Telstra to connect, collaborate and create with the next generation of designers and thinkers - while gaining real insight into the hearts and minds of the millennial generation, allowing them to communicate more authentically and effectively.

With the help of 16 Semi Permanent mentors - including Billy Sorrentino from the Design team at Apple (formerly WIRED) - 100 of the country's brightest young creative’s took part in an all-day workshop, with the process shared via video and editorial across our respective communities.

Launching Hangouts

We pride ourselves on presenting new ideas, products and technology in ways which get noticed.

How do you launch a new piece of technology (Google Hangouts) in an authentic and engaging way? Invite Roman Coppola, his parents Eleanor and Francis Ford Coppola, plus his friends Jason Schwartzman and Duffy Culligan, for a live 90-minute Google Hangout adventure.

We took a live audience of thousands in Sydney, across to Los Angeles, and onto Napa Valley, New York and Chicago, via a behind-closed-doors experience, which involved some magic tricks and a little delight (Roman fed Sheena the Snow Leopard). Our Google Hangout Launch highlighted the ease and endless possibilities of this new form of communication technology.
