Nourie Flayhan

Nourie Flayhan is a Levantine storyteller and illustrator from the mountains of Lebanon, based in Dubai.

Her work evokes a sense of warmth, childhood memories and a connection to what third-generation children consider home after feeling displaced. Representation is a very important recurring topic in Flayhan’s art, which she uses to open up conversations that may seem uncomfortable when it comes to the region’s communities but important in order to tackle issues like mental health, women’s rights and climate change. Flayhan aims to reclaim and tell the stories of her region through her lens instead of the controlled lens media portrays it to be.
